Ambassador Anna Irene Delgado, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Panama to the Organization of American States, was honoured at the Parliamentary Society for Arts, Fashion & Sports Assembly.

The event, hosted by Alex Davies-Jones MP and Rebeca Riofrio at the House of Commons, brought together cultural, diplomatic and creative leaders to discuss responsibility, safety and the role of influence in society.

Ambassador Delgado received the Medal of Excellence.

An accomplished attorney and diplomat, she has held senior diplomatic roles including Ambassador of Panama to the United Kingdom and Ireland and Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization.

Her work has focused on diplomacy, governance, international law, multilateral cooperation and global dialogue.

In her speech, Ambassador Delgado spoke about Panama, diplomacy and the cultural obligations that nations carry in building understanding, cooperation and peace.

Her recognition reflected the Assembly’s wider belief that culture and diplomacy are closely connected, and that international dialogue remains essential in a divided world.
