The internationally acclaimed dancer and former Strictly Come Dancing professional was recognised for her artistic achievements, dedication to dance and ability to inspire audiences across generations.

Internationally acclaimed Ukrainian dancer Nadiya Bychkova was honoured with the Award for Excellence in Dance & Cultural Inspiration at the English Chamber Orchestra Royal Gala Fundraiser, held on 17 October 2026 at the magnificent Banqueting House in Whitehall.

A two-time World and European Champion in Ten Dance and multiple Slovenian ballroom and Latin champion, Bychkova has built an exceptional international career defined by technical precision, artistic expression and dedication to her craft.

Widely recognised for her nine years as a professional dancer on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing, she has brought the elegance and discipline of ballroom dancing into millions of homes, helping introduce new audiences to an art form rooted in music, movement and cultural tradition.

Her achievements also include two Guinness World Records, reflecting the extraordinary skill and determination behind her performances.

The award recognised not only her competitive accomplishments and contribution to television, but also her role in promoting dance as a powerful form of artistic expression and cultural inspiration.

Her recognition was particularly meaningful at an evening celebrating the English Chamber Orchestra, as dance and orchestral music share an intimate artistic relationship. Both demand years of discipline, emotional interpretation and the ability to communicate beyond words.

Attended by HRH Princess Katarina, Lady de Silva, and distinguished guests from the worlds of music, philanthropy and the arts, the Royal Gala raised support for the Orchestra's charitable and educational initiatives, including programmes designed to inspire young musicians.

For Bychkova, whose career demonstrates how talent, perseverance and artistic commitment can transcend national and cultural boundaries, the honour celebrated an enduring contribution to the performing arts.

Her recognition was a reminder that dance, like music, is a universal language — one capable of connecting cultures, inspiring young talent and transforming discipline into beauty.
