The British-Turkish actress and television personality was recognised for her influence on younger generations, her advocacy for their protection within the creative industries and her growing involvement in public discussions on cultural responsibility.

British-Turkish actress and television personality Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu was recognised with the Award for Cultural Influence & Inspiring a New Generation at the English Chamber Orchestra Royal Gala Fundraiser, held on 17 October 2026 at the magnificent Banqueting House in Whitehall.

The award celebrated her contribution to contemporary entertainment and popular culture, particularly her ability to connect with younger audiences and encourage confidence, individuality and creative ambition. It also acknowledged the importance of using public influence responsibly, especially in an industry where young people can face considerable pressures.

Since winning ITV's Love Island in 2022, Ekin-Su has developed a career spanning television, acting, publishing and media, establishing a significant public platform beyond reality entertainment.

More recently, she has taken part in important conversations about the responsibilities of the entertainment industry towards younger generations. Speaking at the Houses of Parliament in the United Kingdom, and previously at the United Nations, she has addressed the importance of protecting and supporting young people, particularly those seeking opportunities within the arts and creative industries.

These engagements give additional significance to her recognition at the Royal Gala. At a time when questions surrounding safeguarding, public exposure and the wellbeing of emerging talent are increasingly relevant, her willingness to participate in such discussions reflects a broader dimension of her public career.

The evening, attended by HRH Princess Katarina, Lady de Silva, alongside distinguished guests from the worlds of business, philanthropy and the arts, celebrated the English Chamber Orchestra's musical heritage while raising support for its charitable and educational programmes.

Through initiatives such as Close Encounters and the forthcoming New Horizons programme, the Orchestra is committed to widening access to classical music and creating opportunities for young musicians.

Ekin-Su's award therefore represented a meaningful connection between cultural influence and social responsibility: recognising not only her success in entertainment, but also the importance of protecting, encouraging and giving a voice to the next generation of creative talent.

Her recognition served as a reminder that influence carries its greatest value when it extends beyond personal achievement to help create a safer, more inclusive and supportive future for others.
